The ScotiaMcLeod Core Portfolio is a market portfolio of 15-20 companies, with each of the four major sectors of the Canadian equity market represented. Suitable diversification is achieved by maintaining exposure to each sector at all times. Sector weightings are established, monitored and adjusted to reflect current and anticipated macroeconomic conditions.

The goal of the portfolio is to provide a long-term consistent rate of return by holding a diversified portfolio of stocks comprised of industry leaders. Significant emphasis is placed on sector weighting and stock selection to achieve superior returns.

Our ScotiaMcLeod Canadian Income Plus Guided Portfolio is a lower risk equity portfolio designed for conservative investors whose primary objective is dividend income with modest capital appreciation.

The ScotiaMcLeod Income Plus Portfolio comprises shares of conservative companies that are well established, financially strong, and have an excellent record of earnings and dividend growth. Diversification is achieved by investing in 10-15 companies over a minimum of four sectors.

Our ScotiaMcLeod U.S. Core Guided Portfolio is designed for growth oriented investors seeking consistent long-term rates of return from a portfolio of high quality American companies. This portfolio includes companies offering market leadership, unique franchises and a strong management team combined with an attractive trend in profitability.

Diversification is achieved by investing in 15-20 companies broadly distributed across the four major sectors - interest sensitive, consumer, industrial and resource. The companies in the ScotiaMcLeod U.S. Core Portfolio are selected from the S&P 500.
