i:Partner is designed with a clear and easily understood fee structure based on the value of your portfolio, the type of assets you hold, and the amount of trading you do. The fee structure separates the cost of advice from the fees for executing equity and option trades.
The advisory fee covers ongoing investment advice, portfolio monitoring and the personal services you receive from your ScotiaMcLeod advisor.
Transaction fees are flat fees* that apply only to equity or option trades. The amount depends on the way in which your trade is placed. If you enter your order online or through the automated telephone service, equity fees are deeply discounted. If your advisor places the order, transaction fees are lower than traditional full-service brokerage fees.
ScotiaMcLeod i:Partner has been designed to appeal to investors who have minimum investable assets of $75,000.
Family Plan
An innovative benefit of the i:Partner account fee structure is that up to five family accounts can be linked together for fee-sharing purposes, provided that one account meets the minimum investment of $75,000.
The fee is split among the linked accounts on a pro-rated basis by percentage of total asset value and asset class. It's an arrangement that could decrease your overall advisory fees.
Ask your ScotiaMcLeod advisor to explain how you can take advantage of account linking.
