How much does it cost to enroll?
There is no cost to join the SCENE program. Membership is FREE.
Who can join SCENE?
Any Canadian resident who is 14 years of age or older who has internet access and a valid email address can apply for a SCENE membership at scene.ca .
Any resident who is 16 years of age or older can apply for a SCENE-eligible bank account with a corresponding SCENE ScotiaCard online at scene.ca or at any Scotiabank branch (Please note that parental consent is required for anyone under 16 years of age to obtain a Scotiabank bank account.)
Any resident who has reached the age of majority in their province of residence (18 years of age in Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec and Prince Edward Island; 19 years of age in British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland/Labrador and the territories) can apply for a SCENE VISA card online at scene.ca or at any Scotiabank branch.
I'm not 14 years old yet. Why can't I get the SCENE card?
Unfortunately, SCENE is not available to people under the age of 14 due to privacy legislation in Canada.
How many points do I need to accumulate to get a free movie ticket?
All you need are 1,000 points for a free movie. You can also use 1,000 points to redeem for a free Concession Combo at the concession stand.
How do I get the 10% discount at the concession?
Simply present your SCENE membership card to a Concession Attendant prior to placing your order to get your 10% discount. Your discount also applies to anything you buy at the concession stand no matter how many people you're buying for (excluding alcoholic beverages).
Can I earn points on my SCENE membership card for all the people who are attending a movie with me?
You will receive 100 points for each movie visit when you present your SCENE membership card and purchase your theatre ticket. Plus, you can receive an additional 50 points for each child under the age of 14, up to a maximum of 2 children.
However, you cannot receive additional points for other adults who accompany you. But, don’t forget, if you pay for your tickets and/or concessions using your SCENE ScotiaCard you will receive 5 points for every $1 you spend at Cineplex Entertainment theatres to a maximum of 300 points per debit purchase and 600 points per day.
Are my points transferable?
Unfortunately, SCENE points are not transferable. However, once you redeem your points, you may give the free tickets or other rewards to whomever you wish.
Why did I get automatically enrolled in SCENE?
Everyone who has a SCENE ScotiaCard or SCENE VISA must have a SCENE membership so you receive the points you earn from your purchases.
How can I find out how many points I have?
You can find out how many points you have 24/7 simply by going to scene.ca and logging in to your account. You’ll also find your points balance printed right on your ticket stub whenever you purchase a movie ticket at a Cineplex Entertainment theatre.
Why do I have to go to a Scotiabank branch to pick up my ScotiaCard?
Due to Canadian regulatory requirements and for your safety and protection, you must go to a Scotiabank branch in person to get this card as your identify must be verified in person.
I lost my SCENE ScotiaCard. How can I get it replaced?
Please call 1-800-4SCOTIA (1-800-472-6842) or visit your local Scotiabank branch to report your card lost or stolen. To get a new SCENE ScotiaCard, visit a participating local branch in the Greater Toronto Area.
