- 2 Money transfer fee of $9 plus 1% of principal is applicable to money transfers less than $1,000 on consumer to consumer Western Union Money Transfer®1 transactions initiated through Scotia OnLine Financial Services or Scotiabank Mobile Banking which is provided by The Bank of Nova Scotia. In addition to the transfer fee, Western Union also makes money from the exchange of currencies.

Customers should check with those banks, as terms and conditions may vary. If the recipient does not bank online with one of those banks, they will experience a delay of several days in receiving their funds, and they may be charged a fee in order to receive the funds.
