Details on Eligibility

If you are a Landed Immigrant who has been in Canada up to three years, please bring the following to open your bank account:


  1. Immigration Landing Document (IMM 5292) or Permanent Resident Card
  2. Valid photo ID such as foreign passport or driver's licence issued in Canada

If you are a Foreign Worker, please bring:

  1. A current valid passport
  2. Original work permit
  3. Letter from your employer in Canada

If you are an International Student, please bring:

  1. A current valid passport
  2. Letter of acceptance from a Canadian educational institution
  3. Study Permit (IMM 1442 is the most commonly used form)
