In order to protect your card in the event that it is lost or stolen, it must be registered at www.scotiabank.com/mygiftcard. If lost or stolen, you must contact Scotiabank Visa Gift Card Customer Service at 1-844-484-0048. A replacement card will be mailed to you and the existing balance on the card, minus the $3.95 Replacement Card Fee, will be transferred to your new card.
There are no transaction fees for using Scotiabank Visa Gift cards for purchases outside of Canada. Similar to foreign credit and debit transactions, purchases made in a foreign currency will be deducted from your card in the amount converted to Canadian dollars based on an exchange rate determined by Visa Inc. on our behalf, on the date that the transaction is settled with Visa Inc. The exchange rate includes an additional 2.5% of the converted amount.
