Scotiabank is proud to maintain branch operations in Belize, where it has operated for more than 37 years.
Scotiabank opened its first branch in Belize City in December 1968. Retail banking expanded in the 1970s and 80s, with the addition of 3 more branches. Activity in the branches in Belize reflected the economic growth of the country and was heavily centered on the agricultural industry. Business continued to grow during the late 1990s and, by 2008, 11 branches had been established.
With 11 branches throughout the country, Scotiabank offers a complete range of retail, commercial banking, including electronic cash management. The Bank has about 140 employees here, plus 12 ATMs countrywide.

- San Ignacio Town
- Corozal Town
- Orange Walk Town
- Dangriga Town
- Placencia Village

Scotiabank plans to continue growing in Belize, and with constant improvements in technology, the Bank will strive to make banking easier for its customers and the people of Belize. In July 2006, Scotiabank will be introducing Internet banking in Belize.
