Scotiabank Hosts Back-to-School Fun Day

Nassau, The Bahamas, August 24, 2017 – Scotiabank demonstrated its commitment to youth in the community by hosting a day of fun and giveaways for over 100 clients of the Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect Unit (SCAN), most of whom are from orphanages and residential facilities on New Providence Island.

“The SCAN unit provides hope and healing after the trauma of abuse, neglect, and violence. We are proud to partner with them to bring a little sunshine to their clients at this special, annual event which our employee volunteers look forward to each year,” said Maxine Seymour, Manager, Sponsorships and Philanthropy at Scotiabank.

The young people enjoyed a day of entertainment at the Adventure Learning Centre, including visits to the petting farm, playground, and theatre; along with an outdoor train ride. The event concluded with a special visit by the popular local puppet, Charlie the Yellow Bahamian.
