Scotiabank Employees Donate Blood to Hospital Blood Bank

Nassau, The Bahamas, December 18, 2015 – Scotiabank employees recently donated blood to the Princess Margaret Hospital's Blood Bank, in an effort to save lives. During the corporate blood drive held at its Rawson Square Offices, the Bank invited employees to each donate a pint of blood to assist with the public hospital's need for blood.

Friends of the Blood Bank, an organization made up of regular donors, partnered with the Bank to facilitate the drive in response to the Hospital's ongoing appeal.

"Scotiabank believes that healthy communities make stronger communities," said Lasonya Missick, Director, Human Resources, Scotiabank. "Our employees are proud to support the outreach work of the Friends of the Blood Bank because we know that they share in this belief and are making a positive impact on the lives of persons in the Bahamian community."

In 2015, Scotiabank employees in The Bahamas spent over 3,000 cumulative hours volunteering their time and energy to charitable causes.
