Scotiabank Surprise $5000 Donation to Ranfurly Home Raffle
Nassau, The Bahamas, September 17, 2007 When organizers of the Ranfurly Home Love That Child Annual Grand Raffle decided to launch the raffle and stimulate ticket sales in front of Scotiabanks Main
Branch on Bay Street, they expected the response would be good.
What they didnt expect was that Scotiabank would make a $5,000 donation to the Home, particularly because the bank had already given them an annual donation for 2007.
Patron of the raffle, Dame Marguerite Pindling and President of the Homes Board of Directors, Ms. Remelda Moxey were thrilled and surprised when Mrs. Debra Wood, the banks Senior Manager, Marketing and Public Relations presented them with the cheque. The decision to again help the Ranfurly Home was easy because the Home does a lot for the under-privileged and Scotiabank is focused on enhancing the lives of all children in The Bahamas, including the under-privileged. We are committed to making tangible differences in their lives, so we seized the opportunity to help the Ranfurly Home Love That Child, Mrs. Wood said.
Mrs. Moxey said, This is a pleasant and welcomed surprise. It costs us quite a bit to keep the facility operational and we are extremely grateful to Scotiabank for all the support that they have provided us with over the years.
This surprise donation just tops it all off! Dame Marguerite added.
